a) To promote the advancement of and to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge in the profession of Borehole Surveying. 

b) To promote the general interests of the profession and encourage Zimbabweans to enter the profession. 

c) To regulate the profession in the public interest. 

d) To seek to obtain, and subsequently to maintain, registration of both the title and practice of Borehole Surveyors in Zimbabwe. 

e) To seek to obtain the establishment of standard professional fee scales for professional services performed by Borehole Surveyors and related disbursements, together with periodic reviews to protect the public interest. 

f) To maintain good relations with other professional bodies in Zimbabwe and with similar professional bodies in other countries.

g) to draw up a code of conduct and to inquire into and deal with any case of alleged unprofessional conduct and to impose in respect thereof, if proved, any action or punishment as prescribed.

h) to promote the education, training and continuing professional development of members and to assist and co-operate with any statutory or other body/institution concerned therewith.

i) to set standards for approved borehole survey methods.

j) to attain the legal status of the profession of borehole surveyor through an Act of Borehole Surveyors.
